Sindh is the southern province of Pakistan and historical rich region. Hyderabad is the ancient city of Sindh, in which Qadam Gah (footprints) of Hazrat Ali is worth visiting place. This is the sacred place for all Shi’a-Sunni Muslims and non-Muslims also; people visit this place without any kind of religious discrimination. Qadam Gah occupies the 33 thousand square feet of area and its beautiful building attracts to visitors. This place is the central point of azadari of Shi’a people in the month of Muharam and other commemorate religious days like birth and death anniversaries of twelfth Imams, martyred of Karbala and other religious important days.This place is the source of religious and psychological inspiration for all the Shia-Sunni Muslims. In this place, women, children, youth, and aged people can visit without any kind of age, gender, and religious discrimination for their spiritual relaxation.
If we look at the history, rulers of Sindh Talpurs and Rulers of Iran were connected with each other through family relationships. They had interchanged anxious, priceless, and unique gifts to each other. Some Iraqi friends gifted the Miracle symbols of Hazrat Ali (a.s) to the King of Iran Fateh Ali Shah Qaachar. After that in 1805, Irani King Fateh Ali shah Qaachar sent those religious and unique things as a gift to the ruler of Sindh Meer Karam Ali khan Talpur. That miracle symbol was included many things like foot, head and hand prints of Hazrat Ali on the stone, foot prints of riding horse and lion of Hazrat Ali which was the security guard of Holy family and the holy book Quran that was written by hand writing of Hazrat Ali.
Unjuman-e-Imamia Sindh is the famous and active organization of Shi’a sect. this organization was founded in 1908. Mirza Aashiq Ali Baig is the chief organizer and president of this organization. This organization is independent and whole arrangement of Qadam Gah is under control of this organization. In the Qadam Gah there are 30 employs which known as Khudaam, they supervise the whole activities of Dargaah.
When I entered in Qadam Gah, I saw a hundred feet of high Alam in the left side of entry gate, every visitor, came here first for pilgrimage of holy alam and after that he/she went to the pilgrimage. There are 15 shops in this place, on those shops many different type of things are available for sell. Like the, tools of azadari, goods of decoration of Zuljinah, different types of pots, artistic pictures, and religious books of famous Shi’a scholars. Furthermore, religious audio/video Islamic DVDs, iron made necklace, stickers and religious shawls and so many other things, on which names of Panjtan Pak, twelfth Imams, Masooms (children of holy family), and martyred of Karbala were printed in very attractive, artistic and beautiful way.
In the Qadam Gah, basic facilities are available for visitors, on the first floor of building, there is a Nahj-ul-Balag library, in which thousands of religious books are available for readers, and there is a Zahra clinic for the patients. For the outsider visitors there is a wonderful guesthouse of 23 rooms for male and female separately. Ziarat Gah has been divided in two portions of male and female.
Footprints of Hazrat Ali are on stone, which are enclosed by wood and mirror made frame, besides the footprints, there was a very large cradle, which was made by silver in the affection of Hazrat Ali Asgar, (son of Hazrat Imam Hussain). The art of that cradle is heart touching and amazing, that cradle was enclosed by wood made frame also. Beside that cradle, I saw a plate of dry fruit that was for the visitors and devotees; they take to eat for friends, family members, and themselves for blessing. In the Qadam Gah, I saw visitors were engaged in different activities. People were recited the Holy Quran and Nohakhuwani. In the Qadam Gah Niaz has been distributed among hungry people, visitors, and beggars by wealthy people many times in a day.
In the Qadam Gah, there are three large boxes of sacred religious things, which are enclosed by wood made frames. In the first box, there are many religious holy things; some of them are tile pieces of tomb and some dust and brick of grave of Hazrat Abbas, tile piece of grave of Hazrat Imam Taqee, cradle of holy Quran of the tomb of Hazrat Ghaazi Abbas, little wood pieces of tomb and grave of Hazrat Imam Hassan Askari. In the second box, there are many sacred things like dust of Karbala, one Tasbee that was made by dust of Karbala, one tile piece of grave of Hazrat Imam Moosa Kazim, small chadar piece of grave of Hazrat Imam Hussain, stones of Uhud Mountain, and broom of grave of Hazrat Imam Hussain. In the third box, there is a beautiful little silver made cradle, many other things that were related to other Imams.
From the Qadam Gah every month four troops of visitors are going to Iran, Iraq and Sham for visit of religious and sacred places. In the backside of Qadam Gah there is another dargah of Hazrat Abdul Wahab Shah Jeelani, which belongs to Sunni sect, on this dargah every year people celebrate the religious festival in the month of Rabi-ul-Sani. This Dargaah is under control of Oqaaf department of Sindh government.
